Trimming HST's

My picture is an example of how to trim a HST to 3 1/2". This is the size for our corners on the June block. On your ruler, mark the size of your HST. You see we put painters tape to mark 3 1/2" along each side. Once you have sewn 1/4" seam on both sides of the diagonal line and cut the piece on the line, place the piece on the corner of your ruler so that the seam hits the mark on both sides. Then you can use your rotary cutter and cut along the top and side of the ruler. Then you can press it and be on your way.
